Year 5-6 Woolworths futureFERNS

In 2026 Mid Canterbury Netballs Year 5&6 grade netball will be played on Saturday mornings/early afternoons in the New World Junior Competition inside at the EA Networks Centre.

The will play 6 v 6 which is a fast game providing lots of touches on the ball. The 6 v 6 game is played on a full size court with three positions on each team. Players rotate to prevent early specialisation in positions. The emphasis is on all players getting plenty of touches of the ball and the opportunity to develop a broad skill set.

2026 Dates: 9 weeks of competition

All coaches for this age group are expected to attend a coaching workshop before the season starts. Workshop dates are:

Friday 27th March: 5.30pm - 7.00pm

Thursday 9th April: 3.45pm - 5.00pm

These will be held at the EA Networks Centre
