Netball back after unexpected break

College A will take on Celtic Darryl Phillips B in their first game in ACL premier 2 this week.

After an unexpected week off due to adverse weather in the district, Mid Canterbury Netball’s ACL premier competitions will get back on court this week.

The first games of round two were due to take to the court last week, but they were cancelled due to the flooding which impacted on many of the district’s roads and temporarily closed the Ashburton Bridge. That means that the middle round of the season is now shorter than expected, making every game even more important.

This week, 2020 champions Hampstead Ray White Senior A will kick round two off against Methven Wareings, while Celtic Auric Electrical A will play Rylib Southern Lights, and United KFC A will take on Mt Somers Victory A – the team automatically promoted to ACL premier 1 at the end of round one.

In ACL premier 2, the team relegated at the end of round one, College A, will start round two off against Celtic Darryl Phillips Motor Company B at 7.15pm. In the 6.15pm round, College B and Hampstead Ray White Senior B will play each other, while in the 8.15pm round the team promoted from ACL premier 3 at the end of round one – Southern Mayfield Transport – will play Methven EuroAgri.

The team relegated from premier 2 – United KFC B – will start their ACL premier 3 campaign against College Y10A, while College U18A will play Methven Shearmac, and Mt Somers Victory B has the bye.
