Umpires
GETTING THE GAME STARTED
Umpire checks for:
- Short and smooth fingernails –Umpire not required to have nail clippers!
- No sharp adornments (wedding ring and medic alert bracelet only allowed but must be taped) earrings must also be taken out of newly pierced ears !
- Players are wearing correct playing uniform
Coaches and Players can help the umpires—stop the warm up and gather as a team for them to do check. The umpire must do the check off the court.
Team captains must have tossed and notified umpires and scorers of the result.
Scorers and Timekeepers
- 2 scorers & timekeepers– 1 from each team MUST stand together
- Notify the umpires when there are 30 seconds and then 10 seconds remaining prior to the start of the game, the end of an interval or a stoppage (for injury)
- Stop and start the clock when the umpire signals to during the game
- Record the score—both scorers to check after each goal scored
Whistle
- 30 seconds before the start of game the umpire blows a whistle to warn players it is nearly time to take the court
